Right-click
on the following link and select "Save Target As..."
to download the trail FNO software.
_SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
Click
on the above link to downoad the trial FNO file.
You
will now have a file on your disk called names.zip.
Unzip this to a temporary directory. You can usually
do this by clicking on names.zip in file manager or
explorer and choosing extract.
There
should now be three directories created in your chosen
temporary directory, this is disk 1, 2 and 3. In file
manager or explorer, go to the disk1 directory and
double click on Setup.exe, this installs the database
engine.
Now
go to the disk3 directory and repeat the process with
setup.exe
Double click on the HPS Names Demo icon to start. You
are now ready to use the demo. For speed of downloading
the demo program is installed with 50 name origins for
print testing and page layout purposes. The full database
allows access to over 200,000 name origins together
with written descriptions of the coats of arms.
When
FNO Demo is downloaded it is important to open HELP
and read Print Setup. It is also important to go to
'Print-setup' and select NEW select your printer name
and save and click 'Done'. You can get the suggested
page layout settings from the HELP page
This will allow you to print from the 50 test names
installed to your selected printer.
